Teena's Family Childcare Preschool program we teach children to think creatively so when faced with the complexity of our ever changing world they have the tools to be successful. A child's cognitive, social & emotional, and physical development is stretched when they play with a meaningful purpose. Incorporating music into daily learning has been found to help increase and retain the many things they'll learn! We have mixed age groups, creating a community of learners that support and grow from one another. The older students develop a sense of leadership, confidence, and accomplishment when passing their knowledge on to the younger. Through developmentally appropriate and self-directed activities, our preschoolers can follow their unique interests and learning preferences as they develop cognitive, social, and emotional skills. We provide a wide range of instructional strategies and activities to encourage meaningful and engaged learning. Abstract concepts are learned by manipulating hands-on materials. During the day, your preschooler will work on activities ranging from practical life skills, sensory, mathematics, language, writing, science, geography, art, reading, music, movement, and Spanish. Along with academic concepts, preschoolers are developing a sense of self-control, independence, problem-solving skills, concentration, and cooperation. In our preschool classrooms we provide a balance of structure and security combined with the freedom and independence your child needs to thrive and reach their full potential. Your child will be introduce to weather, nature, and more. Cleanliness is a must in our environment so we'll practice hand washing, and potty etiquette.
